Babies are hard, right?

When I got pregnant, I had no illusions about what was ahead of me. For years, I’d delayed having a baby because I was anxious about the newborn stage. In my head, there was a very clear picture. It included a screaming baby, a sobbing mother, and an exhausted husband trying to calm everyone down. And while the newborn stage was challenging, I quickly learned that newborn problems don’t disappear—they simply evolve.

The nap nightmare

When my son was three months old, his naps completely fell apart. While we were lucky enough not to see major impacts to his overnight sleep, his naps became a nightmare. Those dreamy 3–4-hour newborn naps disappeared almost overnight. In their place was a baby who could fight sleep for hours, only to nap for twenty minutes when he finally gave in. Like many mothers, I wondered, “Is it me?”

The birth of Ceddie (Sleeps)

My husband, Frank, could see that these naps (or lack thereof) were launching me toward my villain origin story. Frank, being the researcher and tech enthusiast that he is, dove headfirst into baby sleep research. And AI became our best friend as we asked it hundreds of questions like:

  1. Why won’t my baby sleep?
  2. Are our wake windows too long?
  3. Should you wake a sleeping baby?
  4. What in the world is sleep pressure?

We discovered every answer depended on context. We tried other sleep apps, but none of them helped us truly understand what was going on with our baby. There had to be a better way. And so, to save his sleepy wife and help us achieve smarter sleep for Cedric, he developed Ceddie Sleeps. And now, we want to share it with you.

How it helps

While most apps track what already happened, Ceddie focuses on what happens next. Instead of wondering whether your baby should take a third nap, skip it, or move bedtime earlier, Ceddie Sleeps evaluates your baby’s age, sleep history, and current sleep pressure to recommend the best option. Because every day is different, Ceddie Sleeps adapts as your baby’s sleep changes throughout the day. Whether you’re traveling, starting daycare, navigating a sleep regression, or transitioning naps, Ceddie Sleeps helps families make informed decisions without locking them into a rigid schedule. And, importantly, Ceddie Sleeps explains why it’s making each recommendation, so you’re learning about your baby’s sleep as you go. The goal: less guesswork, less bedtime math, fewer overtired meltdowns, and more confidence throughout the day.

Conclusion

Learning baby sleep can be tough (especially for first-time parents), but it doesn’t have to be. If you’re tired of guessing, second-guessing, and doing bedtime math in your head, Ceddie Sleeps can help you understand what your baby needs next, and give you the confidence to respond.
